Typesetting
Typesetting is the process of designing the interior of a published book.

This includes
-
Choosing fonts and heading styles
-
Creating the layout for text, images, folios, running heads and feet
-
Ensuring the layout does not distract from the text by controlling orphans, widows, ladders, rivers and other potential distractions
-
Designing the half title and title pages, copyright page, contents and back matter as needed

Ebook Formatting
Ebook formatting creates the Ebook from scratch, coding everything from the ground up. Ebook designs can be done independently, with the print layout or built from an existing print layout.

This includes:
-
Choosing fonts and heading styles
-
Creating the layout for text and images
-
Creating tables and lists
-
Creating links as needed for chapters, footnotes, images and external materials
-
Designing the half title and title pages, copyright page, contents and back matter as needed
-
Optimizing the content for use across various Ebook devices
-
Making sure the Ebook meets accessibility standards

All formatting includes two rounds of revisions. Additional revisions can be added for an additional cost. Print formatting is done in InDesign with proofs submitted as a PDF. Ebook formatting is done in Sigil with the proofs submitted as an ePub.

AClarke Editorial only offers formatting for text based manuscripts with minimal images.

*Formatting does not include proofreading.
