Formatting & Design
Formatting is the process of designing how the text will look in the published book.
This includes
-
Choosing fonts and heading styles
-
Creating the layout for text, images, folios, running heads and feet
-
Ensuring the layout does not distract from the text by controlling orphans, widows, ladders, rivers and other potential distractions
-
Designing the half title and title pages, copyright page, contents and back matter as needed.
All formatting includes a minimum of two rounds of revisions to a maximum of four. Additional revisions can be added for an additional cost. All formatting is done in InDesign with all proofs submitted as PDFs.
*Formatting does not include proofreading.
